Out the door...

I haven't even bothered putting the suitcases away. I'm becoming quite the efficient traveller too. All three girls' goods packed into one overhead-sized piece of luggage. (My husband packs more than all 3 of us combined, so he's using his own bag. Seriously man, what's with all those shoes?) Headed to Winthrop Harbor, IL this weekend. Bon Voyage!

Yumminess...

I eat the same breakfast every morning. ( I like it that way.) However last night while thumbing through the new issue of Cookie I saw a recipe for Oatmeal Brulee. I used

1/2 c. cooked steel cut oats

pat of butter

pinch of salt

tablespoon of pure maple syrup

dash of cinnamon

coat top with a thin layer of sugar + pecans

Put under broiler until sugar caramelizes and pecans are toasted.

Seriously delicious.

Summertiming...

Lazy days...

So much fun. Friday we head up north to kayak on the Manistee River.

To the dunes...

It's seems blogging is being viewed as a winter sport lately. Summer doesn't last long enough here, so one must enjoy it while it lasts. We're camping at the Warren Dunes @ Lake Michigan this weekend. We'll go hiking, collect mosquito bites, and the girls will double dare me to run up the tallest sand dune. I will try, my legs will burn, and 2/3 's of way, I will barely be able to walk...at least that's how it played out last time. Apparently I'm not that athletic, but I make a mean smore.
