I'll be wearing a little black dress, but...

I have a wedding to go to in Charlevoix this summer. I do already have a dress and the shoes, but this one is very lovely. I adore the color! Doesn't she have the best hair too?

Happy little me...

Oh yeah, my ring has been found! Someone turned it in at the flower nursery where it was lost. So see, there are honest people in this world. Yippee!

This could be me...

...except for the whole spinning yarn thing, or whatever that is she's doing. I might not have the patience for that. And my arms would be much bigger because I'd actually eat those eggs, and farm work produces muscles right? I'm in a bit of a daze since returning from my trip. I had lots of printing and shipping to do upon my return, a commission to finish up, and nearly 10 days of unanswered emails to reply to. But all those things have been taken care of now, and I'm busy sorting through photos of our stay in the country. The last couple of weeks really reminded me of how much I love being in the countryside. No cell phone reception, very spotty internet connection (which deters one from logging on in the first place), no tv. I'm sure I could've picked up a radio station, but I'd rather listen to the birds. Horseback riding, meandering trails on atv's, fishing, wading creeks, catching box turtles and toads, watching baby bunnies discover the acres of clover my dad has planted... Walking down dusty tree laden roads dotted with hundreds! of fireflies, and staring at a jet black sky exploding with millions of stars (no stars to see here in the city)...bonfire, no problem. Did I mention I saw a 2000 sq. ft. home on 28 acres, with 2 barns, four horse stables, 3 stocked fish ponds, acreage fenced for livestock, and a fresh water source for a lowly sum of 200,000? Oh, housing market, you picked a bad time to crash...if only...

Missing the views...

I am home and I miss the hills, the fresh air, and the critters.

And most of all, my family.

Outta here...

Sunscreen, check. Bugspray, check. Toothbrushes, check. 10 hours worth of DVD's, check. Off to see my family!

Paris Is Pink by Alicia Bock

Alicia is one of my favorite Etsy fotogs. She's a fellow Michigander too! She recently took a trip to Paris and has added lots of lovely Parisian shots to her shop. I can't wait to snag a few of these for my bathroom. Eek!

Working on commissions...

Snippets of a commission I'm working on...

Sometimes a person will see something in my shop that they like, but they wish it to favor someone they know, or contain colors to match a room, or they want to change a certain element. The piece above is based on this print. In this case, the hair length/color, eye color, and dress pattern are all altered. Creating the background is sort of a random process anyway, so it will be slightly different as well. In the end, you have an original that suits you ( or a loved one) perfectly.
