break for a cup of tea?

"Tea With Emma" on Etsy. (Click pics to enlarge.)
*Original Sold- Prints available here.*

These happen to be some of my favorite colors at the moment. The dress was inspired by something I saw on Anthropologie. I love their photos, (way more than I love the price of their clothes). I browse their sale section, but the good stuff seems to go way too fast. The teapot was inspired by one I saw on Decor8's blog. It was so very pretty. When I make tea (chamomile is my favorite) I tend to do it the less charming way, think quickly throwing a cup of water into the microwave, then impatiently waiting for it to steep. But in a fantasy world this gal could be me, right? I think so.

new original...

"By The Pond" now on Etsy.

A snapshot that captures a tender moment in nature...

and a welcomed quiet spot, in a world that can sometimes seem so harsh.

Have a good weekend folks:)

Set now available :)

Hooray! I've finally put together the alphabet sets!!!
The details:
Each set contains all 26 letters
Each print measures 4x4 inches, no border
They are printed on 65lb. archival matte finish paper,
using Epson archival inks.
I think think these would look great as a border in a kid's room, they could all be framed in a poster frame, strung on a bit of string with mini clips, you could take them to kinko's and have them laminated if you wanted to use them as flashcards...possibilities are endless.
For all of you that have inquired, I hope to put them in my etsy shop today!

all 26....

A lovely email arrived yesterday from Amy Palanjian, Associate Editor at Hallmark Magazine and author of HallmarkMagazine.com's blog, Things We Make . She had some pretty nice things to say about the Alphabet Series in Monday's post...Thank you Amy! :)

Speaking of the Alphabet Series, I have had numerous inquiries as to whether or not there will be an option to purchase all 26 prints as a set. I hope so. I'm currently experimenting with different papers and sizes, hoping to find a solution that will still yield high quality archival prints, yet at price point that makes them attainable as a complete set. I'll keep you posted!

autumn's creeping in...

Because I love, love, love going to the pumpkin patch/apple orchard...the one we visited last year consisted of a hay ride, apple/pumpkin picking, a petting zoo, and a wee store filled to the brim with warm apple pie, fresh donuts and spicy apple cider. Hmmm, I can taste it now :)

a badly lit sketch...

It's been raining and pouring...lots and lots of grey skies around here. Good weather for a cup of hot chamomille, cuddling up to a worn quilt, and scribbling in a sketchbook. At some point today there was a sliver of blue sky and we ran out to jump through a few puddles and collect some fallen leaves and pea pods. We used them as swords to fend off pirates...argh mate!

progress...

I managed to get a moment to work on this yesterday. I want to keep it soft, but I think she needs one more layer of color . Speaking of color...I managed to select a shade of grey I love...then I noticed it was called "winter's day"...and so did my husband...his whole thing is we need color during the winter blah months...So we've compromised a mostly grey scheme with a pale smokey blue accent wall ( i really hate that term, but whatever) with crisp white on the molding. I'm sure it'll be fine, if not, it's just paint, we can change it. Now on to the other rooms... :)

sketches and paint

Is anyone still following this neglected little corner of my world? If so, yes, I will be posting some new art soon...have I said that before? My attention to other matters has taken up most of my time. My husband insists we finish up home projects before the winter comes...it will make us much happier when we're spending days upon days inside...I agree. All our walls (with exception of the girls' rooms) are beige-y...I believe the exact color is called Water Chestnut. Mr. says he doesn't want to stare at brown walls any longer...when I asked for his suggestions, he says he likes blue and purple...YIKES. So I'm hoping he'll agree to grey...with blue undertones??? Wish me luck...

Nie recovery...you can help...

I've been seeing mentions of the Nie recovery all over in blogland...tonight I took a moment to dig into the story and I'm blown away by the effort that is being made. I felt compelled to do something for this family, so I did, and now I'm passing it on to you...Stephanie and Christian are a young couple with four children...on August 16th they were involved in a plane crash and suffered very serious injuries...Stephanie with severe burns over 80% of her body, Christian 30%. They will spend months in recovery...their family and friends have pulled together to take on the responsibilities of their four children (all under 6 yrs. old)....meanwhile many of Stephanie's friends, and readers of her blog have made an enormous effort to raise funds,(via donations and silent auctions) , send encouragement to the family, and ask for prayers. Please take a moment to help if you can. Learn more here or here.
